Outage since Friday (May 17th morning)
Hi, i live in South Chandler (85249) and my internet has been down since morning of May 17th. Over the weekend Cox is just providing the canned update that they are working on it. Such a long outage has never happened in my 20+ years with Cox .. Tge frustrating part is that there is no end in sight and messaging support also gets a canned reply. Is anyone else having similar issue ? Thanks Raj21Views0likes1CommentAccess not supported in panoramic wifi app
Good evening, I hope that someone can help. We had fiber installed about 3 weeks to a month ago. With that they also installed a new modem(not needed, but ok) it's a CGM4140COM. Prior to this we were able to access our wifi settings and alerts on the panoramic wifi app. Since this was installed all we get is an "Access not supported " message when we try to get in. So we are currently stuck with the default wifi name and password, and can't make any changes. We have tried chat support numerous times and they cannot get in to change our wifi either, and none of their troubleshooting has been productive. We are planning to call also and see if a live tech can be of any assistance. But wanted to check if anyone has anything else to try, or another clue. Thank you!1View0likes0CommentsHardware upgrade REALLY needed?
Good evening everyone. I currently have a Netgear C1000v2 on a 1GB plan. My current WiFi speeds are 465.2/115.5 according to Cox's Speed Test website. This is on both WiFi *and* Wired Connection directly in to the modem for testing. I was having some speed issues the last few months and finally "chatted" with the sales guy at Tech Support. He started telling me that my modem is old and the only way for me to get their truly advertised speeds is to upgrade to the Panoramic WiFi, which we all know is incorrect. The Tech Support Sales Guy also told me that they can't understand why I am not even getting 500MB on my 1GB plan, as it is 100% definitely a problem with my equipment. Even though they can't send any warm or cold hits to my modem from the Head-End, or communicate with it, but upgrading to the 2GB plan will solve all my problems. So here's my question. Before the tech got here, I went and purchased an Arris S33 just in case. However, after him finding a bad ground block in the OPB, he said everything looked good and reverted back to my Netgear and stated it is running fine. My question is this. I noticed some differences in the configuration screens of both modems, so I was curious if anyone knew what benefit I would get by actually keeping the S33 and staying on the 1GB plan (for now), and if I do decide to upgrade, what benefit one would give me over the other. Config screen(s) from the Netgear C1000v2: Upstream Channels: Now, config of the Arris S33: And the Upstream Channels: I notice the S33 has more Downstream and Upstream channels, but don't know if that really means anything to the standard, regular daily usage. The tech also had the problem today of not being able to do anything from the Head-End with the modem before he replaced the problem. Once he did that, he was then able to send warm and cold hits to the modem no problem according to him. My girlfriend and I both work from home and are in IT. She is on Zoom / Teams calls quite a bit, and I am on Teams calls a bit and VPN (sometimes numerous VPN's) 100% of my day. Thanks everyone!6Views0likes0CommentsCAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME
what a fricking nightmare... I have been battling with cox for five SIX days now trying to get someone to help me with getting my email working to where I can consistently send and receive messages. So I have been told that I cant use my outlook and I will have to use webmail until they transition to Yahoo. Next thing I know I cant even send and receive on webmail. Yet Cox wont take responsibility. They keep telling me to change my password yet Yahoo doesn't even recognize my email address. I had one of the 6 or 7 people at Cox I chatted with tell me I hadn't even transitioned yet and that I needed to keep using Webmail in the meantime. They helped me get my webmail to where I was receiving mail again but when I went to try to send, no luck sending. So I once again reached out to another Cox rep, they like most before HE said it was a Yahoo issue and I needed to get with Yahoo. HONESTLY I DON'T KNOW HOW YAHOO IS GOING TO HELP WITH AN EMAIL THEY DON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE. So, the only Yahoo phone number I could find amongst Cox support materials, that wasn't a premuim support $12.99/mo cost, was this phone number, 1-866-562-7450. GUESS WHAT - THIS NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE!!! HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE THIS WORK. I am in a semi rural area and my internet options are very limited AND COX KNOWS THIS. NO COMPETION IS HOW COX HAS GOTTEN BY WITH TREATING THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS FOR YEARS.96Views0likes4Commentssmtp.cox.net outgoing server not working
I just transitioned my Cox email to Yahoo! and it seems to have worked. However, I use the Mail application on my MacBook Pro, and I can no longer send mail through any of my email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo). It seems as this transition screwed up my outgoing server settings. What should the incoming AND outgoing server settings be? Thanks so much!Solved364Views0likes9CommentsNot getting the speed I pay for!
I've had COX for about half a year and right off the bat I gotta say it was way too overpriced. But the price is not even the real issue. I pay for 1GB for download speed and 100mbps for upload, but when I run a speed test, I seem to only get about 1mbps for download speed. It's beyond ridiculous. Troubleshooting or resetting solves the issue for about 2 minutes, but then I'm right back to the problem. Every time I call for help, they can never seem to tell me what the problem is, even after sending a tech. As a casual gamer, I work all week and look forward to relaxing on the weekend and enjoying some games and entertainment online but this issue seems to peak when I want to enjoy some quality time at home. It sucks to know that when my monthly bill comes around, I'm being robbed every month from this company for not fulfilling the service I pay for. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?26Views0likes0CommentsCox Courtesy Credit for going over Data Allotment
On data meter page it says: ($) Courtesy credit: You have 1 courtesy credit to exceed monthly data usage without charges. Tooltip: Cox will waive overage charges for the first month you go over your data plan What does it entail? Does it only pay the first first $10 only? Or does it cover all of the overages for that cycle? So if I go over by 150GB, do I pay $0 or do I pay $20 ($10 free for the first overage, then pay rest)10Views0likes0CommentsMetairie Louisiana "intermittent interruptions"
Since late Thursday evening, Cox Internet has been down in Metairie Louisiana. As always crews are hard at work trying to solve the issue. It has now been 48 hours of constant downtime. Power is restored. Cell service was never out when not connected to wifi. Cox is still out. No estimated time to restore Internet service. Non-existent customer service. Quite the company you are running. Disgusted and looking at options now. Really have little choice.33Views1like6CommentsCocks can’t keep up with 4k videos on YouTube with 1GB download speed
I’m paying 130$ for YouTube to buffer and lag on 4k videos when no one else is using the internet at home. Worst internet service I have ever had. DONT GET COCKS… oops I mean Cox because they suck it. Losing packets left and right.75Views0likes4Comments
