Using Yahoo email in Mac OS mail app
I have created my Yahoo account in my Mac OS mail, but I can't seem to bring it online-attempts to change it from offline to online are futile. Anyone with a Mac able to help? I tried Yahoo chat, the AI bot is useless and if I want help from Yahoo I have to pay. I can't stand Yahoo in the browser. I can't see the text very well b/c my eyes are old now. The ads are annoying and I will drop Cox before I pay for Yahoo premium. We were looking for a reason to switch to the new Verizon 5g box. Might be now. Thank you in advance.Solved4.4KViews4likes96CommentsAwful!! Drops connection all the time!!
We keep getting awful service. We pay for a gig and service always drops, it stops while streaming even though cox says there is no problem, but a ton if people on nextdoor all say the same thing. I thought was our issue, but definitely not. The other thing is for last 4 months, we have been getting notices saying we are almost hitting our max data!! It is just 2 of us, and we have been here 2 years and haven't changed anything about what we do. I think cox is just trying to get us to upgrade. Cox is the biggest scam.20Views1like2CommentsProblems with Email on Yahoo
I managed to complete the conversion to Yahoo (simple login and setting new password). Eventually I got it on my iPhone (had to add as a new account rather than change settings from cox.net servers). Then I got it to work for Thunderbird (missing clue in instructions was to use OAuth2). And I have used both the Yahoo email app for iPhone, and the web interface on my desktop. A few test emails from one account (I have 3) to the others, and it's looking pretty good. Then, I sent from gmail. Sometimes it never arrives, sometimes it goes to the Inbox, and sometimes it goes to Junk (iPhone mail) or Spam (Yahoo app) but nowhere on Thunderbird. A friend sent 2 emails from gmail, 1 to just 1 of my "new" cox.net accounts and it went to junk/spam. He sent the 2nd to all 3 "new" cox.net accounts it was fine. I had an important email sent to me (with a time limit, from the government!) this afternoon and it never showed up. Ideas? I looked for any filters, but gmail? ftb.ca.gov? Yahoo seems to want $5/month if you want to talk to them. Not happy at this point and may start the painful transition to gmail or other service. Or am I missing something?6Views0likes0CommentsWhy did my DVR stop recording certain episodes of shows set to series recording?
I have several television shows set to series recording, and recently noticed that I’m missing weeks of recordings. I have the TV shows The Voice, Abbot Elementary, etc set for series recording and it’s skipped 4 to 5 episodes and picked up weeks later after all of those missing recordings. When I attempt to play the recordings, they are only available on Peacock so I just was forced to pay for subscription to Peacock. If I want to watch my shows, why is that so when I pay for Cox Cable already and was able to record in the past? Help, I called Cox and was told that it’s something to do with the actual TV channel prohibiting me from recording, but I for Service and expect to be able to record so where’s my refund? lol help fix this7Views0likes2CommentsThunderbird conversion
I could use some help. I can log into Yahoo's web server to get my mail. I'm trying to switch Thunderbird from the Cox server to Yahoo. I'm being asked for my password on imap.mail.yahoo.com. I enter what I believe is my password. I get the error message "login to server IMAP.mail.yahoo.com with userID mhorowit@cox.net failed" Can you assist?- Mike83Views0likes4CommentsEMail not saving messages
As far as I can determine I am still with Cox email. Today two out of my six accounts stopped saving messages. I use Thunderbird for emails and the 'SENT' file is grayed out and no messages show. I get two error messages Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder due to network or file problems The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxx@cox.net responded [TRYCREATE] Mailbox doesn't exist. When I log in to webmail.cox.net, I can see the old message but the newly sent message are not being saved. Four out of the six account are working OK6Views0likes0CommentsCox New Yahoo Email Starts Now
Well went to check Cox email, and guess what ? I had to make the move to yahoo email. Couple of things learned by my mistakes. You will have to change your email password so have one ready. Don't sign into your phone and computers until you have made sure you are established in the new yahoo account. Was kinda pain free. Will have to learn new ways of doing things, but what else is new. Little more difficult if you already have a Yahoo email account, but you can work around it with a little thought. If anyone learns new tricks to change over list them here so we don't have to hunt all over for them. GOOD LUCK445Views0likes2CommentsOnly IPv4 after modem upgrade (IPv6)
Hello, Today I upgrade my modem from a Cisco DPC3010 to an Arris S33. I had to chat with Cox support to register the new modem. After they registered the modem, Internet started working only for IPv6 addresses. IPv4 addresses were not routed to the Internet. The customer support representative only recommended to clear the cookies, and did not know what else to do apart from sending a technician. I could not wait for a technician to come, so I asked them to re-register the old modem. With the old modem it was again working in both IPv4 and IPv6. Any recommendation about how to fix this? Try again? Thanks, Ludovico9Views0likes1Comment
