Upload speeds drop <1mpbs constantly
For months now there are periods when my upload speeds drop down to 0.1-0.3mbps. During such time phone service becomes also unusable if needing to enter any phone menu driven digits, and any tv channel change becomes impossible to do. I've complained about this constantly either in app, phone or through X (twitter) when it happens and it usually then miraculously fixes itself for another few hours after wasting 2 hours until it again reverts back to being unusable. There seems to be no scheduled date or time to fix this issue. Nor will anyone advise me exactly what the issue is. Nor will Cox send someone out to my house to troubleshoot (indicating I guess they know where the problem rests). Hopefully someone here is willing to investigate and provide an actual answer when I can actually expect to get the service I pay for.RDB_LA8 minutes agoNew Contributor37Views0likes10CommentsCall History Not Working
Call history displays the headings but no calls are listed under it. It was OK about 4 hours ago.MasterMyDomain2 hours agoContributor II730Views5likes64CommentsArris SB6190
Hi, The SB6190 won't keep a steady high rate. I use the cox online reset and then have to hard boot the modem in order for it to get close to 500Mbps (If I don't hard boot the modem after the reset, it doesn't get any faster). The improved speed lasts between 2 hours and two days and then it drops to 30Mbps. This has been occurring for over 2 months. I have tried 2 of the same model. Since the beginning of December my internet goes down from 2 to 10 times a day. They have sent out 4-5 service men. Switched out my Panoramic Modem and it still goes down. Today it was for 4 hours this morning. I get the same answers when I call. Reset the modem, they will find the problem and text me back. Never get a text back. If it wasn't such a hard time switching all my emails, I would have cut Cox out long ago. Now, it seems the only solution!!!!fran1235 hours agoNew Contributor230Views0likes15CommentsCox down again
I wonder how many days it'll be this time. Every week it goes down. What are they doing over there?Solvedjaws2225 hours agoContributor24Views0likes1CommentModem hardware requirements for upload speed
Creating a new post of a discussion started here. Does anyone have any insight into what the hardware or network requirements are for the different upload speeds? For example, as per here, the upload speed for the 500Mbps download tier is: ""10 Mbps, 50 Mbps, or 500 Mbps, based on the network architecture serving your physical address". What does the "network architecture" refer to? I know to get symmetric speeds you need fiber, so that would explain the 500Mbps upload, but is the difference between 10 and 50Mbps? Are they talking about having a OFDMA channel available in your area? Are they talking about mid-split? Something else? Also, what changes what upload speed you get on fiber on the 2Gbps tier? It says it can be both 1Gbps or 2Gbps upload. Is that to do with just the available bandwidth or the congestion in the area or is there a different fiber tech some areas have? Like GPON vs XGS PON? I assume it requires a ONT that has a multi-gigabit ethernet port.SolvedWiderMouthOpen7 hours agoEsteemed Contributor II75Views0likes17CommentsCall History Update
Call records were displayed in the All tab for a few hours on 01/14/2025, then disappeared again and haven't been seen since. For call records to be available after a month-long outage and then be removed again would have required someone at Cox to have done something to cause it. Has anyone who experienced the Call History outage on 12/13/2024 had the issue fixed?CurtB7 hours agoHonored Contributor325Views0likes29CommentsFrequent cable n internet drop out
Hi. I live in East Central Phoenix. Every day, several times a day the cable goes down. TV goes black. It freezes and then sometimes the audio comes back but no pic. Or sometimes pic and no audio. If it goes down for too long then I have to reboot the modem. Sometimes I need to unplug modem and contour box too. Frequent internet drop off too. I am sick of this. About ready to buy Tubi and go to T-Mobile for Internet. I pay almost $200 / month for this glitchy TV n internet from Cox. Sucks! I am venting. Don't expect any help. Just getting it off my chest for now.sokCOX20217 hours agoVisitor11Views0likes1Comment
