Outage since Friday (May 17th morning)
Hi, i live in South Chandler (85249) and my internet has been down since morning of May 17th. Over the weekend Cox is just providing the canned update that they are working on it. Such a long outage has never happened in my 20+ years with Cox .. Tge frustrating part is that there is no end in sight and messaging support also gets a canned reply. Is anyone else having similar issue ? Thanks Raj81Views0likes4CommentsHorrible Service
Today, 5/20/2024, two Cox technicians came to my home without notice and shut off my service. My bill is paid and account is current. I spoke with one and he claims a line is "making noise." He asked if I was having issues with my service and I said no. He said the line in the house needs to be checked. I explained I am remodeling and cannot have anyone in the house at the moment. He understood and said I could schedule an appointment when I am ready. He said he would turn my service back on, but apparently did not, as I currently have no internet. Cox, you send techs to customers without notice and then leave them with no service? Very angry and disappointed.18Views0likes1CommentEmail transition badly mishandled.
The arrogance, the stupidity, the short-sightedness, and the lies about a "seamless" email transition. I hope you go out of business. I am researching internet alternatives and will cancel Cox as soon as I'm able. I've also noticed how you made it difficult to post this comment. Cox will be discussed in future MBA classes as one of the epic big business screw ups.16Views0likes5CommentsGmail POP-ing cox.net worked, now with yahoo hosting it doesn't
I posted to another message that was marked "SOLVED". Not sure what it was marked solved as I see people are having issues. I use gmail and before this transition used POP to pull my cox.net email into my gmail. My cox.net account has been transferred to Yahoo. I logged into Yahoo's webmail using Cox.net and see current email there. The POP settings for Yahoo are not working. here are the settings and error message. This stuff is not rocket science. This is most likely poor planning and no testing. I knew I should have gotten away from cox.net email a loooonnng time ago313Views2likes19CommentsCox/Yahoo email conversion
My experience in the conversion has been a frustrating one. I followed all instructions but it did not work for me, apparently because i was using a Mac. Yahoo support was helpful and we figured it out. However, I get all my emails in Outlook and despite following all instructions on setting that up, i'm not getting the same emails over and over, after deleting them. Just this morning I deleted several emails and every time i refresh my outlook, they show up again. Any idea what is happening and how to solve it? thank you335Views0likes6CommentsOnDemand Unavailable After Cox Software Upgrade on May 1, 2024
At 1:26 AM on the morning of May 1, 2024 I was watching CNN when the screen suddenly blipped and there on the TV screen was a message from Cox Communications informing me that a software upgrade of the cable set top box was underway. After about 20 minutes the box had rebooted and I was returned to CNN. I used my remote to see if functionality was OK, and it was mostly, but I had lost the ability to access OnDemand. Every time I tried to access OnDemand I received an alert box in the lower right hand quadrant of the TV screen (and I have a brand new, top-of-the-line 60 inch Samsung Smart TV) that appeared and disappeared so quickly that I couldn't make out what the message was. So I used my cell phone to make a video of the TV screen when I tried to access OnDemand, and I was able to capture a screenshot of this error message: Sorry, we are currently experiencing some technical difficulties. Please try again in 15 minutes. If the problem continues, please contact Cox Customer Service at 1-866-961-1207. Reference 7.1.404 when calling. Well, here it is May 20, 2024 and after 12 or so calls to Cox Customer Service, I still do not have access to OnDemand. Talking to the customer service people supplied by Cox is akin to talking to a brick wall. Judging by their accents and the less than ideal phone connection on every call, I strongly suspect I was talking to someone in a call center in India or Viet Nam or Taiwan or the Philippines - somewhere on the other side of the planet - most likely in South Asia or even Southeast Asia. Their response was always to reset the cable set top box. Sometimes they reset it, sometimes I did. I reset it from my phone, I reset it from the TV, I reset it from my laptop, and I reset it by pulling the plug from the wall, letting it sit for a few minutes before plugging it back in. Nothing worked. I am a disabled 78-year-old who depends on OnDemand a lot because I am housebound. In addition to the lack of access to OnDemand my Cox cable TV reception is often punctuated by frozen screen images, pixillation of the image, an image with no sound or error boxes appearing that tell me the signal has been lost. My Cox plan is bundled with Internet and phone service as well as TV, and I'm currently paying Cox $328 a month for really lousy service. I'm just days away from signing up with Dish Network, Direct TV, Century Link or some other provider since I am thoroughly disenchanted, dismayed and disgusted at Cox's poor performance regarding both product and customer service. I'll try once more with this post to get someone from Cox to address the issue with OnDemand, which I suspect is a software bug in the maintenance done on May 1, 2024. But, hey, what do I know? If I get no response, it's sayonara, arrividerci Coxy, auf Wiedersehen, au revoir.18Views0likes2CommentsMissing email history after move to Yahoo
I use outlook on my computer and another email app on my phone and tablet. All are using the IMAP protocol to sync data with the email client. In all cases whether I use outlook, or thunderbird on the PC or my other app on my android devices, there is a huge hole my email history. I have the mails that have arrived since my account was transitioned and one email from April 2022 and then emails start again from May of 2016. This is worse that I thought it was. The emails are visible on the yahoo web mail.8Views0likes0Comments
