Turning off Two-Step Verification
Due to a weird set of circumstances I had to go to the local Cox store to regain access to my account online and, of course, my email. This was a lot of trouble and took quite some time but I eventually got everything back. Everything is essentially back to what it was... except for one thing: I would now get a prompt telling me to check my email for a code that I have to enter to complete the online log-in. This may be safer but I didn't have to do this before, and I really don't want the feature at this time. I got hold of a tech over the phone and explained the problem The tech then did something which turned off the Two-Step process for the main browser I use on my desktop computer to access my Cox account. The problem is that this apparently works on only one browser I use (in this case, Chrome). Other browsers, if I try to log in to my Cox account, still cause the Two-Step process to take place. What I'd like to know is how to turn the Two-Step off for at least one other browser. I haven't the faintest idea how the tech did this but she seemed to indicate I could do it myself. Any relevant information would be appreciated. Thanks.42Views0likes4CommentsCancel Peacock Premium using Contour DVR
Hello, Trying to cancel Peacock subscription that was signed up via Cox Contour DVR. The published instructions do not apply to my set up. No tile or app titled "Manage My Subscriptions" exists, as outlined in the Cox KB article: https://www.cox.com/residential/support/canceling-streaming-subscription-service.html#:~:text=Using%20the%20arrow%20buttons%2C%20highlight,to%20cancel%2C%20then%20press%20OK.&text=3-,Using%20the%20arrow%20buttons%2C%20highlight,My%20Subscriptions%2C%20then%20press%20OK.&text=Using%20the%20arrow%20buttons%2C%20highlight%20Unsubscribe%2C%20then%20press%20OK. I have Complete Care, so I can try to arrange a tech to the home to navigate the menus for me, as I am elderly, but hoping for another set of eyes from another Community Member to help me here on where to navigate on the Contour Remote and DVR. Thanks!21Views0likes3Commentsinternet connection

I have been randomly not receiving email since the switch to Yahoo(I access email direct through a browser). Some email comes through....some(even email I bcc myself on from a gmail account) don't. There is no issue with blocked addresses, or any other setting....verified by Yahoo tech support. Consulted with Yahoo support and they say it's not their issue. Do any of you tech savy people think this situation will get better? I started switching some of my email accounts to gmail....the most important business ones. But what a pain this is.48Views0likes1CommentCox email transition - has anyone completed the transition to Yahoo
Has anyone completed the email transition to Yahoo? It would be appreciated if any Cox customer would answer this question. I have been trying to get some information about when; and all I receive from Cox is we don’t know. In my opinion this response is unbelievable - a significant customer service change and the company’s help response team can’t provide an answer is unbelievable - implies a lack of transparency or worst. So that’s why I am calling out to any Cox customer and provide some feedback about the “actual” transition. I and many of us have received the preliminary emails about the future. Has anyone's completed the transition?5.2KViews2likes56CommentsTuning Adapter (High-Split) Converter Problem
I have a TV ROAMIO that has been used without problems with a tuning adapter for 9 years. A few months ago I was sent a new High Split Converter (HSC-1-H) and I installed it and it worked without issue for 2 months. At 2 am a week ago, I could not receive any channels. When I unplugged the HSC tuning adapter - everything returned to normal. I replaced the Cable Card - no effect A COX tech spent 2 hours in my house and was unable to find the problem. He verified that all my wiring, splitters, and signals to the unit were fine. He replaced all the cable and splitters. I replaced with TIVO with a new ROAMIO - No change - Nothing will work once I plug in the Tuning Adapter. COX sent me a new Tuning Adapter (HSC) and everything worked for about 24 hours - then, once again at 2 am - the problem returned. No channels unless I unplug the tuning adapter. I have changed all the USB cables, twice, changed every component in the system, twice, and watched the COX tech work on the problem for 2 hours - Nothing. I have an open support ticket, but no one ever updates the status. Any suggestions? Firmware updates?606Views1like41CommentsPremature success
After struggling for two full day and getting my 5 accounts to work on Thunderbird and IOS, non were able to receive messages this morning and a bare few are coming through now. Could it be that Yahoo does not have adequate server capacity to handle the additional Cox traffic?4Views0likes0CommentsNot getting all email
I was able to set up the Yahoo account. But while I am getting some emails, I am definitely not getting all emails. I checked and they are not in the spam folder or trash folder, and I have no filters or blocked address on Yahoo that could be causing the problem. In other words, while Yahoo is getting some of the emails sent to myadress@cox.net not all of them are getting to Yahoo. I definitely know that these emails were sent and the people sending them had my correct email address, but they are not all getting through to Yahoo for some reason. For example I got the email sent to me to complete my registration to this forum others have not even got to Yahoo and are not there in my Inbox, Trash, or Spam folder. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem?179Views1like8CommentsCannot Send Mail
What happened to the instructions that were supposed to arrive once the transition to Yahoo happened? I can send emails from Windows 10 desktop using the Cox webmail address: https://www.cox.com/content/dam/cox/okta/mail.html However I can't send email using the Mail app on my iPhone or iPad. I get this message: "Cannot Send Mail. The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.cox.net" failed. Additional outgoing Mail Servers can be configured for Mail accounts in Settings > Mail > Accounts>" How can I determine if I am in "transition" or some other problem?398Views3likes20Comments
