ATLANTA – The promotion of Katy Boren to Regional Vice President, Regulatory Affairs – Eastern Region for Cox Communications Inc. was announced today by Jennifer Hightower, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.
In her new role, Boren will manage the regulatory affairs for the Eastern Division. She will lead a team responsible for advocating for Cox during state commissions matters and managing any regulatory issues as they pertain to each state within the Division. Boren's team will also oversee regulatory compliance and adherence for all Cox systems.
In making this announcement, Hightower said, "Katy has an excellent grasp on the regulatory trends that are coming from various states and the FCC. Her strategic abilities and operations knowledge will assist our operations in adhering to the many regulatory obligations while advocating Cox positions to respective state commissions."
Boren joined Cox in 2000 as Director of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining Cox, she served as Assistant General Counsel at the Oklahoma Public Service Commission and before that she was in private legal practice.
Boren graduated from the University of Denver with a bachelor's degree in communications, and she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma's School of Law.
