Cox Business Adds Mobile Functionality to Hosted Voice Solution to Equip Businesses with Unprecedented Connectivity

ATLANTA – May 24, 2016 – Cox Business has expanded its hosted voice Solution, IP Centrex, giving business customers enhanced connectivity capabilities with voice, instant messaging and more through their smartphones, tablets and desktop computers.

Using the BroadSoft UC-One® platform, Cox Business has strengthened its current offerings to deliver a unified communications experience. When all features are activated, Cox Business users will maintain in-office connectivity while working anytime, anywhere.

"We expanded the IP Centrex solution to enable greater productivity for our customers through a new level of connectivity. Whether via Android or iOS device, our customers will remain connected to advanced voice and messaging features regardless of location," said Steve Rowley, senior vice president of Cox Business.  "In today's competitive landscape, businesses must be equipped with technology to connect from anywhere with customers and respond to their needs immediately; these enhancements to IP Centrex deliver."

The IP Centrex solution now offers business voice, instant messaging, presence, and more. The initial launch includes six applications for smartphone, tablet, and desktop computers providing outbound calling, click-to-dial, instant messaging, and Outlook integration (Windows only).  Two way calling is available for the mobile smartphone app and includes mobile phone line integration for greater voice call reliability. Soon to follow, tablet and desktop applications will provide outbound calling, and the addition of collaboration features for all six apps.
