Cox Ranked Among DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity
Cox recognized by DiversityInc as diversity leader a dozen times, 11th consecutive year in top 25

ATLANTA - May 8, 2017 - Cox Communications ranked No. 18 on the 2017 DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity list. Cox was also recognized as No. 8 among Top 13 Diversity Councils and No. 13 on the Top 15 Companies for Mentoring list.

"As Cox continually evolves our communications products to better connect customers to the things in life they care about most, one thing never changes: our commitment to diversity and inclusion," said Pat Esser, Cox president and chair of the company's National Diversity Council. "We will always embrace diverse perspectives and backgrounds among employees, suppliers and customers. Welcoming, listening to and respecting different views and ideas is what allows us to build the best company and customer experiences."

DiversityInc's Top 50 list, issued annually since 2001, recognizes the nation's top companies for diversity and inclusion management. These companies excel in such areas as hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT and veterans. DiversityInc's extensive annual survey yields an empirically driven ranking based on recruitment, talent development, senior leadership commitment and supplier diversity. This year's competition was improved by new survey questions, increased emphasis on fairness and more sophisticated analysis from DiversityInc's data scientists.

"There are simply not enough qualified people to hire. A company's ability to find the best and brightest, advance and retain them equitably is a decisive competitive advantage," notes Luke Visconti, founder and CEO of DiversityInc. "The DiversityInc Top 50 have a decisive metrics-evidenced ability to treat people more fairly than other large companies. They also have a greater-than-average return for their shareholders."
