Cox Business becomes a Microsoft ExpressRoute connectivity partner with Cox CloudPort
New CloudPort service offers secure private network connectivity to Cloud Services Providers

Atlanta (September 19, 2017) - Cox Business today announced that it provides its business customers direct, private network access to Microsoft Azure using Microsoft ExpressRoute and Cox CloudPort. Rather than access these Microsoft services using the internet, Cox Business' CloudPort service provides predictable network performance, fixed bandwidth costs and carrier grade network reliability by extending customers' Metro Ethernet network to these critical infrastructure services.

"Giving businesses direct private access to cloud provider services is an important part of our strategy to support our customers' hybrid IT architecture," said Steve Rowley, executive vice president, Cox Business. "CloudPort reduces security risks, improves reliability and increases network performance which frees up our customers to focus on growing their business. CloudPort supports multiple cloud service provider regions with scalable bandwidth up to 10 Gbps."

Ross Ortega, partner program manager, Microsoft Azure Networking, Microsoft Corp. said, "The cloud is driving transformation through new business models, global expansion and accelerated innovation, along with an enhanced customer experience. Collaborating with Cox Business to bring ExpressRoute to customers is a core part of these attributes and values."

Cox CloudPort provides secure Ethernet connectivity to most Azure regions from interconnection sites strategically located across the United States with new locations being added in the coming year. All CloudPort circuits can be monitored using the Cox performance management and reporting portal for valuable insight in to the service's performance.
