ATLANTA- Cox Communications announced today the launch of On DEMAND (OD) in its Roanoke, Va. operation. This launch marks the 1Oth Cox market with On DEMAND. It is also available in San Diego and Orange County, Calif., Las Vegas, New Orleans, Omaha, Neb., Oklahoma City, New England, Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia. Cox is planning additional market launches later this year.
Cox On DEMAND offers up to 1400 hours of entertainment including hit movies and free programming from some of cables most popular networks. With On DEMAND, customers can control programming using full DVD-like functionality including pause, fast forward and rewind. Customers will have the luxury of choosing and watching a program of their choice at their convenience.
On DEMAND features hundreds of titles, including hit theatrical comedies, dramas and action/thrillers, as well as Hollywood classics, which are all stored in a virtual library. Cox Digital Cable customers are able to order and instantly view movies and programming using their existing remotes and digital cable receivers.

On DEMAND provides a 24-hour viewing window for movie purchases, allowing customers to view movies instantly or watch them at a later time. Over 250 hours of free On DEMAND content is available via FreeZone, where customers can select from categories including Kids, Sports, Features, Local on Demand, Music and more. Customers can also subscribe to additional libraries of content for a monthly fee. Customers access the On DEMAND menu by tuning to channel 1 with their digital cable remote.

Digital cable customers do not need to sign up for On DEMAND, as it's automatically available to subscribers.
