Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA - Who's that band? That's the question pouring into Cox Communications' corporate office in Atlanta and to Cox customer care centers across the country.

The questions started rolling in last year when Cox Communications began airing a 30-second television spot featuring the RAYZING SONS alongside its new animated brand icon, Digital Max. In the spot, Digital Max helps a frustrated dial-up user to quickly download music via Cox High Speed Internet service. The spot's “ditch the dial-up” message is visually and acoustically punctuated when the band instantly streams into the living room, belting out a heavy rocking song that has consumers from Florida to Arizona asking, Who's that Band?

"Consumers from markets across the country have phoned customer care centers wanting to know more about the band featured in the Digital Max spot," says Dena Malsom, Cox director of marketing communications and branding. "We knew that featuring this very hip band would resonate with our high speed Internet target audience, which wants quick access to music via the Internet - and the spot draws attention to one of our most compelling product attributes, speed. We are delighted that it is also drawing attention to the rising stars of RAYZING SONS."

The emerging band from Los Angeles, RAYZING SONS, bills themselves as a rock band with a message of life, love, pain, fear and freedom. Airing in Cox markets across the country, the advertising spot features the six-member band head-banging to the song, “Deal Wit It”

And deal wit It they are. The band says that the added exposure is helping to attract new fans and fame. Hits to the RAYZING SONS' website, http://www.rayzingsons.com/home.html, are up and Talent Agent Nancy Luciano of NTA Talent Agency says that there is that unquantifiable but absolutely crucial viral buzz surrounding the band. "We're psyched that consumers are reacting to Deal Wit It in the Cox ads, said front man RZ. "We'd love it if Digital Max hit the stage with us some time."

Malsom said fans wanting more Digital Max and RAYZING SONS are in luck since Cox today made Deal Wit It available as a free download on the Digital Max micro-site (see related release). From www.Cox.com fans of Digital Max and RAYZING SONS can click on the Digital Max icon which will take them to a site dedicated to all things Digital Max. In addition to free downloads of the song, the site provides customers with a closer look at Digital Max's life and personality, including his home movies, TV commercials, ring tones for cell phones, and Digital Max wallpaper and buddy icons for computer screens.

"Max's humor and unique identity are reminding consumers that Cox, the original bundler of telephone, television and Internet, is the go-to company for the best in digital entertainment and broadband," said Malsom, who added that the new site is an extension of the "Your Friend in the Digital Age" brand message. "The fact that consumers can go to the site and quickly download the music of RAYZING SONS helps us to deliver on that brand promise in a very real way."
