ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2004--Cox Communications Inc., the nation's leading cable telephone provider, today announced the availability of Cox Digital Telephone in Southwest Louisiana for local and long-distance telephone service. Southwest Louisiana marks the 17th telephone market for Cox and the fifth market in which Cox has deployed Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology. Recently, Cox launched Cox Digital Telephone via VoIP in Tulsa, Okla., Baton Rouge, La., and West Texas.

"Cox Digital Telephone provides outstanding value to the customers we serve," said David Pugliese, Cox's vice president of product marketing and management. "Today, more than 1.2 million people choose Cox's telephone service for savings, quality service and simplified billing and payment options far greater than the incumbent telephone provider."

The launch in Southwest Louisiana further supports Cox's long-term vision to bring telephone service to all of its markets. In doing so, Cox has proven that cable providers can be successful as telephone providers, as evidenced by recent findings by J.D. Power and Associates. For the second consecutive year, Cox ranked highest in the Residential Local Telephone Customer Satisfaction Study(SM) in the Western Region(a). Nationwide, Cox's bundled customers ranked Cox No. 1 in customer satisfaction for bundled long-distance telephone service in J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Long Distance Telephone Service Study(SM)(b).
