The third generation of cable's DOCSIS service introduces channel bonding, a technology that can bond parallel cable channels to transmit data at faster speeds. Those speeds are further enhanced with PowerBoost™, a cable-exclusive technology that provides an extra burst of speed when it's needed.

Along with the increased speeds, Cox's Ultimate Internet Tier provides customers three unique IP addresses, 10 e-mail addresses, and 50 hours per month of remote dial access (with the ability to purchase extra hours). The standard price for the residential Ultimate Tier is $144.99 per month.

Cox plans to offer DOCSIS 3.0 speeds in more than two-thirds of its systems across the country by the end of 2010. More information about Cox High Speed Internet is available online at www.cox.com/highspeedinternet.
