ATLANTA, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Media, the advertising services division of Cox Communications, Inc., announced today that it has launched an all digital system for managing ad distribution.
Cox Media is the first multiple system cable operator (MSO) to provide an enterprise-wide digital media management system to clients. The new system, known as SpotXpress, is part of the company's efforts to facilitate more efficient services for clients in a rapidly changing advertising environment.
More than 90 percent of the 43 million Cox Media spots produced annually are now managed digitally, significantly reducing the number of tapes and DVDs sent to landfills each year and directly contributing to the company's Cox Conserves program to reduce its overall carbon footprint.
SpotXpress is free to clients and offers convenient uploads of spots via a secure online portal, eliminating the delays associated with shipping physical content. The new system immediately creates operational efficiencies on the client and operator side by reallocating resources previously dedicated to shipping, receiving and tracking materials.
In addition to client convenience and operational and environment efficiencies, the digital media management system ensures that spots maintain optimal video quality and audio fidelity by avoiding the transfer to analog media.
"High-quality digital content management is an important part of Cox Media's ongoing transformation to better address the needs of advertisers," said Mike Zeigler, vice president of operations, Cox Media. "SpotXpress is a powerful innovation for the industry that delivers operational efficiencies, quality controls and environmental benefits."
Cox Media developed SpotXpress internally and teamed with VideoShip to operationalize the system. SpotXpress is available to Cox Media clients in each market the company serves and technical support is provided by VideoShip's call center.
