Robin Benton Promoted to Assistant General Counsel for Cox Communications
Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA – The promotion of Robin Benton to Assistant General Counsel for Cox Communications was announced today by Robin Sangston, Vice President of Legal Affairs.

In her new role, Benton will be responsible for providing legal support on day-to-day operational telephony issues for the Cox Wireless team. Benton also will provide legal support to the Network Operations group and the Contracts Administration group with respect to drafting and negotiating telephony contracts for the transport of telephone and data traffic, collocation agreements, and other telephony-related products and services. Benton will continue to provide legal support to the Cox Regulatory team responsible for telephony operational issues.

In making the announcement, Sangston said, "Robin's extensive prior legal experience working for two incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) has made her an invaluable part of our department. In part because of this experience, she has ably assisted our Marketing efforts as they have shifted from marketing video and high speed Internet to marketing the bundle in a competitive environment. With this background, Robin is well-prepared to help us move into the competitive wireless arena."

Benton joined Cox in 2001 as Corporate Counsel and was promoted to Senior Counsel in 2003. Prior to joining Cox, she served as Counsel to the consumer marketing division of Ameritech. Previously, she served as State Regulatory Attorney for AT&T Corporation in Atlanta.

A graduate of Bradley University, Benton holds a Bachelor's degree in Science and earned her juris doctorate from the Harvard School of Law.
