Cox Offers Free Calls to Japan

ATLANTA, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications today announced that calls placed to Japan with Cox Digital Telephone y Cox Wireless will be free of charge through March 31, 2011. In addition, Cox Wireless customers can send text messages to Japan during this period free of charge. This program includes Cox Digital Telephone calls to both landline and cellular telephones dialed to country code 81. Cox Digital Telephone calls will be retroactive to March 11, 2011.

The program is automatic for all Cox Wireless customers with international calling and residential Cox Digital Telephone customers with Cox Long Distance. In addition to calling, Cox also made TV Japan available for customers with Cox Advanced TV access in Orange County and San Diego, Calif., Las Vegas and Northern Virginia. TV Japan, a 24-hour comprehensive news channel in both Japanese and English, is currently available in these Cox markets. The programming began to air for free on March 11th and will continue until March 25th.
