Jill Campbell Appointed Chief Operations Officer for Cox Communications
Cox Media Group’s Alex Taylor Appointed Sr VP of Field Ops, Veteran Leader Leo Brennan to Retire

 

ATLANTA – Cox Communications announced today that Jill Campbell has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operations officer (COO) for the company.  

In her new role, Campbell will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring companywide alignment with competitive strategies to enhance marketplace execution and service delivery to Cox's six million customers. Campbell will manage field operations, customer experience, marketing, sales and public affairs. Most recently, Campbell was the senior vice president for Cox's field operations. In that position, she was responsible for overseeing operations of all of Cox's cable systems, serving customers in 18 states throughout the U.S. Campbell joined Cox in 1982 as director of communications in Oklahoma. She has served in multiple roles throughout the enterprise including vice president and general manager for Cox systems in California and Nevada.

 

Campbell has been recognized for her business leadership by numerous organizations including Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), which named her the group’s National Woman of the Year in 2008.

Campbell replaces Leo Brennan, a 28-year Cox veteran, who will retire in May after assisting with the leadership transition. Throughout his tenure, Brennan has served in various roles including vice president and general manager of Cox Las Vegas, and general manager of Cox's Orange County, Calif. system, where he oversaw the launch of the cable industry's first triple play bundle of digital video, Internet and telephone service over a single network platform.

Alexander C. Taylor has been named senior vice president of field operations. Taylor will be responsible for all of Cox's field operations and the related Atlanta division support teams. In his previous appointment, Taylor served as executive vice president for Cox Media Group, owned by Cox Communications’ parent company, Cox Enterprises.

 

At Cox Media Group, Taylor was responsible for overseeing newspapers, television stations and radio clusters in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama and Ohio in addition to the company's flagship properties in Atlanta, Ga.

Cox also announced that Mark Bowser, executive vice president and chief financial officer will expand his responsibilities to include oversight of Cox Business and Cox Media operations, two of the company’s largest growth opportunities.
