ATLANTA, April 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jill Campbell, Cox Communications' executive vice president and chief operations officer, is the 2012 recipient of the cable industry's top honor, the Vanguard Award for "Operations Management," the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) announced recently.
A 29-year Cox veteran, Campbell is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring companywide alignment with competitive strategies to enhance marketplace execution and service delivery to Cox's six million customers. Campbell also manages field operations, customer experience, marketing, sales and public affairs.
"We are incredibly proud of Jill for receiving this prestigious honor," said Pat Esser, president, Cox Communications. "She is a dynamic and influential leader that brings vision, enthusiasm and dedication to every aspect of her role."
Campbell joined Cox in 1982 as director of communications in Oklahoma City, where she also served as customer service manager and acting general manager. She later served in several leadership roles for Cox operations. In 2001, she was promoted to senior vice president of operations for the eastern division, and in 2011 Campbell expanded her role to oversee operations for the company's entire field systems. In 2012, she was appointed to her current position.
The Vanguard Awards were started in 1965, and are presented annually to "individuals who excel in both business and personal commitment to their colleagues, and whose accomplishments merit the recognition of the entire cable industry."
