Cox Business Maintains Leadership as Top Tier Ethernet Provider
Cox Business Captures 10 Percent of U.S. Business Market
Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA - Cox Business remains a top tier business Ethernet provider, ranked above all multiple system cable operators (MSOs) and several incumbent providers according to Vertical Systems Group's Year-End 2007 U.S. Retail Business Ethernet share analysis. The company grew its market share, based on ports, to 10 percent to maintain its leadership position as the fourth largest provider in the U.S.

Cox Business became the first MSO to enter the top tier of U.S. business Ethernet providers in 2007 with a mid-year market share of 8.9 percent. The company attributes its aggressive growth to its successful history of delivering Ethernet services to customers served by both fiber and hybrid fiber coax (HFC).

"Ethernet services provide highly scalable and efficient communication capabilities to meet the modern data networking requirements of businesses," said Kristine Faulkner, vice president of product development and management, Cox Business. "As the trusted provider of our customers, we will continue to grow our data services portfolio to equip businesses with the tools they need to succeed."

As one of the leading Ethernet providers in the U.S., Cox Business is actively involved with technical associations, standards bodies and industry associations dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Ethernet services, such as the Metro Ethernet Forum.

“Enterprise customers want Ethernet services for their network upgrades and new installations, and we project rapid growth of this emerging market during the next several years,” said Rosemary Cochran, principal, Vertical Systems Group. “Cox has established itself as the MSO leader in the U.S. Business Ethernet Services marketplace, which also encompasses large incumbents plus competitive providers.”

Cox Business provides a full portfolio of voice, data and video services to more than 200,000 business customers in Cox markets across the U.S., including small businesses, multi-location enterprises, regional healthcare providers and federal, state and local government organizations. In 2007, Cox became the first multiple system cable operator to enter the top tier of U.S. business Ethernet providers, according to Vertical System Group. In 2006, Cox Business received the highest honor in the J.D. Power and Associates Business Data Study for Small/Midsize Businesses.
