Alysia Long Promoted to Assistant General Counsel for Cox Communications

ATLANTA – The promotion of Alysia Long to Assistant General Counsel for Cox Communications was announced today by John Spalding, Vice President of Government Affairs.

In her new role, Long will be responsible for compliance with Federal Communications Commission regulations related to must carry, retransmission consent, cable equipment and the digital transition. She also will play a major part in the development of the company's public policy agenda, working closely with the Cox Enterprises Public Policy Office and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA).

In making the announcement, Spalding said, "Alysia has provided eight years of exceptional service to Cox Communications. She has emerged as an expert in her field of cable regulatory law, and her counsel is sought and respected throughout the company and the cable industry on the most complex issues. I am pleased to recognize Alysia with this promotion"

Long joined Cox in 1999 as Corporate Counsel and most recently served as Senior Counsel. Prior to joining Cox, she served as Senior Attorney for Equifax, Inc. Previously, she served as an Associate with the law firm of Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough.

A graduate of the University of Virginia, Long holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Duke University School of Law.
