ATLANTA – The promotion of Michael Grover to Executive Director of Government Affairs was announced today by John Spalding, Vice President of Government Affairs.
In his new role, Grover will be responsible for coordinating Cox Communications' state legislative activities within the areas in which the company operates. He also will oversee Cox's relationships with national policy organizations and provide counsel on political activities.
In making the announcement, Spalding said, "Michael has consistently delivered positive results for Cox when dealing with tough franchise renewals or state legislative battles. He is one of the most respected government affairs professionals in the cable industry and we are fortunate to have him on our team. I am proud to recognize Michael with this promotion."
Grover joined Cox in 2001 as Director of Government Affairs. Prior to joining Cox, he served in several capacities at Media One/AT&T Broadband, including Director of Legal Affairs, Director of Corporate and Legal Affairs and Director of Law and Government Affairs. Previously, he served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Detroit.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Grover holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law.
