Cox Las Vegas launches fastest Internet speed in Nevada along with

LAS VEGAS – Cox Las Vegas today announced Internet speed increases in Southern Nevada for its most popular broadband tiers, tripling speeds for the top tier of Cox High Speed Internet to 150 Mbps making it the fastest residential broadband speed in Nevada. Cox Business Internet from Cox Business has also increased speeds in addition to the creation of two new tiers of service including a 100 Mbps tier for commercial customers. These enhancements ensure that Cox residential and Cox Business Internet customers continue to experience the fastest broadband in the marketplace. The new speeds take effect immediately without any increase in price.

Ongoing advances in technology have influenced the evolution of broadband speeds at Cox Las Vegas leading to a 150-fold increase in top speeds between 1998-2013.The Company’s launch of 50 Mbps in late-2009 has been tripled to 150 Mbps with today’s announcement.

The residential speed upgrades for 2013 at Cox Las Vegas encompass the most popular tiers of service. These tiers include Essential (3 Mbps to 5 Mbps), Preferred (15 Mbps to 25 Mbps), Premier (25 Mbps to 50 Mbps for customers with DOCSIS 3.0 modems) and Ultimate (50 Mbps to 150 MBPS).

At Cox Business, Cox Business Internet tiers with speed increases includes Premium (from 25 Mbps to 28 Mbps). Two new Cox Business Internet tiers were created including Tier 6 (80 Mbps) and Tier 7 (100 Mbps). Tier 7 is expected to increase from 100 Mbps to 150 Mbps in early-2013.
