COX TRIPLES FASTEST INTERNET SPEEDS FOR ROANOKE CUSTOMERS
With $4.6 million Investment, Cox Continues to Invest in Roanoke Region

ROANOKE, Va. – Cox Communications today announced that it will make its Ultimate High Speed Internet service available in Roanoke and will make the speeds of its other popular tiers of internet service up to three times faster.  With speeds as fast as 100Mbps, Cox is continuing to provide its customers the fastest speeds in Roanoke. The new speeds automatically go into effect on July 17, 2013.

"Our customers tell us that speed matters," stated Kim Stanley, Market Vice President, Roanoke Operations. "That's why we've invested more than $70 million in our network -- $4.6 million alone to enable these incredible speed increases in Roanoke. Higher internet speeds are especially important in today's connected world where more and more devices are connected through their WiFi network throughout their home.  And we will continue to invest in our network to bring our customers the best online experience possible."

Cox offers a wide array of broadband service packages designed to suit anyone's needs, from the casual email user to power gamers and households with multiple family members using the Internet simultaneously.  Cox also offers the most compelling combinations of speeds and features, with all customers receiving free cloud storage; 24/7 live, online sports coverage from ESPN; and Cox Security Suite, a comprehensive package of Internet security tools to help ensure online safety with anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-phishing, parental controls and more. Plus, when Cox's high speed internet is bundled with Advanced TV, customers can experience more than 90 channels of online content with more coming soon.

The higher speeds greatly increase as customers move up the packages Cox offers. Choosing the best package for each customer, as well as the right modem equipment will provide the fastest Internet and strongest wireless signals to all the devices they use.

A key aspect to experiencing Cox's fastest speeds is for customers to have the right equipment in their home. DOCSIS 3.0 modems and wireless routers provide the fastest Internet and strongest wireless power to all the devices used in the home.

“Cox has served the Roanoke region for almost 40 years,” Stanley said, “and we remain committed to doing our part to deliver a bright future for the region.”

Both residential and business customers recognize Cox as an Internet provider of choice. Cox earned top honors in the Western region among Internet service providers in the J.D. Power and Associates' 2012 Internet Service Provider Residential Customer Satisfaction StudySM, and Cox Business leads all providers of small and midsize business data solutions in customer satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Major Provider Business Telecommunications StudySM.  Cox Business offers fiber-based advanced data solutions, as well as several Cox Business Internet speed options to effectively support corporate email, online research, Web-based business applications and complex data networking.

Customers interested in experiencing the fastest Internet speeds available should call (540) 776-3848 to experience Cox High Speed Internet for themselves.  More information is available at www.cox.com/highspeedinternet or customers can visit a local Cox Solutions Store to test speeds for themselves.
