ATLANTA –The promotion of Jack Polish to Executive Director, Financial Reporting and Compliance for Cox Communications, Inc. was announced today by William J. Fitzsimmons, Chief Accounting Officer and Vice President of Accounting and Financial Planning.
In his role, Polish will be responsible for the management, technical application, preparation and review of all external and internal financial reporting requirements, including oversight of Cox's accounting policies. He also will be responsible for the development, promotion and monitoring of ongoing improvements in internal control as defined by Sarbanes Oxley fundamentals.
In making the announcement, Mr. Fitzsimmons said, "Jack has been a solid member of our team and has been instrumental in helping us strengthen our balance sheet as we've transitioned from a publicly-traded company into a privately held operation. He has taken on several challenging projects and demonstrated good judgment and delivered positive results."
Polish joined Cox in June 2003 as Director of Financial Reporting. Prior to joining Cox, he served as a Manager in the audit practice of Deloitte & Touche. Previously he worked for The Coca-Cola Company in the Accounting Research Group, and served in a similar capacity with Ryder Systems, Inc.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Polish holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
