Scott Yates Promoted to Director of Network Assets for Cox Communications

ATLANTA – The promotion of Scott Yates to Director of Network Assets for Cox Communications Inc. was announced today by Larry Dexter, Executive Director of Network Services.

Yates will be responsible for asset procurement and negotiating vendor contracts to support Cox's state-of-the-art network backbone. He will also lead a cross functional procurement council created to enhance vendor performance and contract management.

In making this announcement, Dexter said, "Scott's contractual negotiation and asset management efforts have resulted in tremendous savings for our network support operations. He works closely with our Supply Chain Management team. Together, their work in negotiating standardized service level agreements and benchmarking service costs have proven to be incredibly effective in holding our vendors more accountable. I am pleased to recognize him with this well-deserved promotion."

Yates joined Cox in 2002 as a Network Assets Manager. Prior to joining Cox, he served as a Captain in the US Army. As an Automation Officer, he was responsible for overseeing network operations for over 200 computer systems.

A graduate of Auburn University, Yates holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.
