Cox Communications Launches Cox Family Fun Night
Special Viewing Event Brings Families Together with Commercial-Free Programming from Noggin, Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite
Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, Ga. - On Sunday, June 5, Cox Communications, Inc. is launching Cox Family Fun Night, a special television viewing event that brings family members together for a night of family-friendly programming. On local origination channels, Cox systems nationwide will offer commercial-free content from the Noggin, Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite programming libraries appropriate for all ages that evening.

"In earlier days of television, families would eagerly gather around the TV set with a bowl of fresh popcorn to enjoy quality programs that entertained both kids and parents alike," said Jim Robbins, President and CEO of Cox Communications, Inc. "With Cox Family Fun Night, we recapture that special feeling with a night of family-focused programming, delivered commercial-free as thanks to our customers. Cox Family Fun Night demonstrates the power of Cox's network and our deep commitment to the communities we serve."

Cox Family Fun Night represents the first time an MSO has partnered with a programmer to deliver an evening's worth of commercial free content for subscribers. Cox Family Fun Night begins at 7:00 pm (local times) with a half hour of Noggin favorites for the pre-school crowd, including OOBI and 64 Zoo Lane. Then at 7:30 pm, the entire family can enjoy The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, the hit Nickelodeon movie. Back-to-back episodes of Fatherhood, the acclaimed Nick At Nite Series from Bill Cosby, will be shown at 9:00 pm.

Cox Family Fun Night is a grassroots extension of Take Charge! Smart Choices for Your Cox Digital Home, an educational campaign developed by Cox to empower parents and care givers to manage their children's access to mass media content and the Internet. Launched in August 2004, the initiative strives to increase customer awareness and use of parental controls and filtering tools already available on their cable and Internet services. Cox has joined forces with child advocate and TV host John Walsh to educate families nationwide about this vital issue.

Providing tools and resources that are easy to understand and implement, Take Charge! helps parents find great educational TV shows and web sites while keeping their families safe from content they find objectionable. Program components include a comprehensive web site (www.cox.com/takecharge), public service announcements from John Walsh, a free resource guide and educational presentations at Family Fairs, instructional workshops, PTA meetings and other venues. Take Charge! also enables parents to teach young children and teens how to stay safer online through Cox's partnership with NetSmartz®, an interactive, educational safety resource created by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
