Your activity and devices ## What Impacts Data Usage? All downloaded and uploaded data delivered over your Cox Internet service counts towards your data plan. There are two main factors that contribute to your monthly data usage. - **Your activity** - How you use your internet impacts your data usage. For example, watching an hour of streaming content uses a higher amount of data than an hour of checking emails. - **Your devices** - The number of internet connected devices and the number of people using these devices in your household also impacts data usage. Adjust your image and video quality settings in streaming apps and websites such as Netflix or Hulu. Higher quality settings (HD, 4K) consume a large amount of data. 2.
